The Rubrics section of the dashboard is where you create templates. These templates are often general in nature so they can be used for multiple programs or courses. For example, you might create an oral presentation rubric for all instructors in the Communications Dept. to use when assigning presentations.
Once a rubric is created, you will need to link it with an assessment. For example, a course instructor of Theory and Practice of Argument provides students with a discussion topic and asks them to come prepared to present their argument during the next class. This instructor could use the oral presentation rubric, which lives in the Rubric column, to associate this particular rubric with the presentation task.
Those campuses choosing to use our Rubrics LMS Integration (Blackboard or Moodle) will link the rubric with an Assignment rather than an Assessment. These individuals have the ability to:
- Create a rubric in Baseline
- Associate the rubric with an Assignment that lives in the LMS course gradebook
- Evaluate students in Baseline using the rubric
- Push final scores from Baseline into the course’s LMS gradebook
